♦ Wine Club Assistant Coordinator

The Wine Club Assistant Coordinator is responsible for conducting and prioritizing the day to day operations of the Castello di Amorosa Wine Clubs.

Job responsibilities for the Wine Club Assistant Coordinator may include:

  • Maintain current knowledge and descriptions of the various Wine Clubs and be able to address them to members and potential members
  • Explain the various processes and operations of the Wine Clubs -  particularly shipping and delivery -  to members
  • Present current information on retail sales and Club events to members
  • Enter new customer information and update customer information for all clubs
  • Maintain customer accounts, including ringing orders, fulfillment and follow up
  • Correct and update billing information for customers
  • Run reports
  • Participation in and preparation for wine club events
  • Return customer calls, responding to emails and phone calls
  • Take reservations and back up the reservation department on a regular basis
  • Assist in proofing email communications and Monthly Newsletters
  • Project a professional company image through in-person and phone interaction.
  • Must be able to work weekends (both days), holidays and some evenings
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable in a warehouse atmosphere
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and skills

  • Good wine knowledge preferred
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent computer skills including good knowledge of Word, Excel, Publisher, Internet and Outlook Mail and ability to learn new software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English a must
  • Excellent typing skills and data entry accuracy
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Ability to take and make customer phone calls in a friendly and professional manner
  • Must have ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work well under pressure and be able to adhere to strict deadlines
  • Visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information.
  • Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and have reliable transportation
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Reports to: Wine Club Manager

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, cold warehouse conditions, and varying degrees of heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment and fumes or airborne particles.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position

♦ Outbound Marketing  – Wine Sales

Our successful team is focused on keeping our winery relevant to our best winery customers (case purchasers and club members). This upscale, “experience” focused winery is located near Calistoga, CA. We offer award winning and highly rated wines sold exclusively direct to consumer. Our goal is to regularly reach out to our loyal friends and family and extend our famous hospitality outside our tasting room walls.  The team calls winery customers with special wine offers and other winery information.

There are three part to full time opportunities for the right candidates. Wine industry experience is preferred but not required. Outbound calling experience is also preferred but not required. Flexible hours available. Fun, team-oriented working environment.

♦ Reservation Assistant/ Cashier

Previous cashier and money handling experience is preferred. Must be extremely reliable, work well under pressure, and display a positive work ethic. Applicants must be comfortable multi-tasking.

Duties may include:

  • Project a professional company image through in-person and phone interactions.
  • Greeting visitors.
  • Tour and wine tasting ticket sales.
  • Answering phones and taking tour reservations via phone and in person.
  • Opening, counting, closing, and balancing a register drawer.
  • Ringing orders for shipping out of state and internationally.
  • Maintaining timely transaction sessions.
  • Accurate data entry of customer information for shipping orders and tour reservations.
  • Properly counting back change to customers.
  • Stocking wine and gift items
  • Being flexible with scheduling.
  • Arriving to work on time and ready to start right away.
  • Recommending various food and entertainment venues to customers around the Napa Valley.
  • Working possible long hours/ evening events on occasion.
  • Weekend work REQUIRED. No exceptions.
  • Other responsibilities as directed.

Knowledge/ Skills:

  • Cash Register/POS system operation.
  • Making change.
  • Balancing tills.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.

Tasting Room/ Tour Guide

The Tour and Tasting personnel are responsible for conducting tours of Castello di Amorosa and presenting tastings of the Castello di Amorosa wines. We are a fast paced work environment looking for astute sales professionals to serve the wine novice to wine aficionado. Wine knowledge preferred, but not a necessity. You must possess a desire to constantly learn about the winery business, possess excellent communication skills, an unquenchable desire to offer all guests a first rate winery experience, and a desire to rise above the mundane. As a direct to consumer winery with no distribution, the customer experience is paramount. Must be extremely reliable, work well under pressure, and display a positive work ethic. Sales experience a plus. A unique opportunity for the wine enthusiast in you to serve the customer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Educate the guests about the wines, winemaking techniques and winery information and history.
  • Help customers make selections by building customer confidence; offering suggestions and opinions.
  • Contribute to group sales goals by accomplishing personal goals.
  • Greet and serve guests in a friendly, gracious manner
  • Promote the wines of the Castello by pouring and selling the wines and adjusting content of presentation based on qualifying customer’s personal interest, knowledge and ability to purchase.
  • Promote the Wine Club
  • Escort groups of people through the Winery along specified routes and explain various winery processes and operations of winery machines
  • Provide support for privately booked and winery sponsored events
  • Be able to learn and present tour material as directed
  • Maintain and restock your working area
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Assist with inventory management
