Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Sangiovese is principally estate grown
Winemaker Notes
Sangiovese is an historic red wine grape variety originating in Northern Italy where it is recognized as the superior variety in Tuscany and elsewhere. It often forms part of a blend to create harmonious, focused food wines. Sangiovese is becoming increasingly popular as a red wine grape and some winemakers use Sangiovese to make rosé wines. The wine was created principally from grapes harvested from the vineyards surrounding the "Castello."
Food Pairing Notes
It pairs quite well with fish in a rich sauce, grilled meats and vegetables in garlic and olive oil, pastas with mild sausage and antipasti with flavorful cheeses.
