Chardonnay grapes harvested from a vineyard at the south end of the Napa Valley Appellation, where the cool San Francisco Bay breezes are ideal for this variety. This bright golden wine presents a toasty oak and buttery bouquet opening up to aromas of ripe citrus, apple and pear. The influence of “sur-lies” aging is apparent, providing a creamy texture and nuances of toasted bread. The initial taste impression is supple, round and textured, followed by mouth-watering fruit flavors and an excellent acid balance. The lingering aftertaste has citrus and mineral overtones and a sweet, woody finish of vanilla and hints of toasted nuts. This Chardonnay is rich and supple, finishing lively and crisp.

Production Notes
100 % Barrel fermentation, 50% new French oak barrels, all aged “sur lie” (on the yeast) for 10 months and stirred to re-suspend the yeast, enhancing aromas and adding texture and volume to the mouth.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair this with mild cheses and lighter roasted meats like chicken, shellfish or pork with a rich sauce. This is a lovely compliment to glazed vegetables as well.
