Hot off the Presses!! “Il Barone” Receives 94 Points from Wine Enthusiast
We have just received some fantastic scores from Steve Heimoff of Wine Enthusiast Magazine, including a 94-point rating for our 2009 “Il Barone” Cabernet Sauvignon! Our 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, which had already received a spectacular 91 points from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, has also received a 93-point rating from Heimoff, and the additional distinction of being marked as a “Cellar Selection,” which makes it an incredibly acclaimed wine for only $49 a bottle. Several of our other reserve and single vineyard wines also gained distinction from the publication, including our 2010 Don Thomas Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (93 points/ Cellar Selection), 2010 Melanson Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (92 points), and our 2009 “La Castellana” Super Tuscan Blend (92 points/ Cellar Selection).
We could not be more proud of our Director of Winemaking, Brooks Painter, Assistant Winemaker Peter Velleno, and our entire winemaking team here at the Castello who are currently working tirelessly on our brand new 2013 vintage. We are looking forward to many more fantastic wines to come from our wonderful winemaking family!
